The IA Design team were recognised for creating a “state-of-the-art, activity-based working environment” at the PepsiCo Official Opening in March 2017.
“The IA Design team successfully redesigned and transformed our Sydney headquarters from a traditional, physically-siloed workplace to a state-of-the-art, activity-based working environment.
From the initial design through to the official opening of our new office, our global and national management teams felt at ease with open lines of communication, seamless liaison with project managers – CBRE, and a clear design direction. The IA Design team gave us the tools to bring our new workplace strategy to life, and the new environment has transformed the way our employees operate on a day-to-day basis. The process was efficient, financially viable and most importantly, has set the standard for our global transition to agile working environments. We are so pleased to have worked with the IA Design team and are continuing to work together on additional workplaces.”

The IA Design Sydney Studio worked alongside CBRE as the project managers on the new ABW PepsiCo National Head Office in Sydney.
PepsiCo represents over ten brands with different requirements for each product team. To meet the needs of each team, neutral Scandinavian inspired finishes were adopted to allow all brands to have a voice and flexibility in future brand changes.
The design concept was focused on the movement of liquid through spaces, to reflect PepsiCo’s key product range and tie the PepsiCo brand identity into the physical space. The expansion of the internal stairs connecting the three floors has opened up the central core creating a hub of excitement and encouraging movement.
The interior is modern, contemporary and exciting while at the same time clean, timeless, fresh and calming. Thoughtful consideration has been given to the balance between showcasing multiple and ever-changing brand merchandise, and maintaining sophistication and structure.
To support the new way of working for PepsiCo, IA created huddle rooms, focus areas, phone booths, team collaboration zones, and even test kitchens within the workplace. Further, the installation of LCD screens in key areas of the workplace and collaboration areas has changed the way the PepsiCo team share new marketing programs – an exciting and efficient change!
The success of this project was supported by early engagement in change management and strong internal commitment at all levels within PepsiCo Sydney – a necessity when adopting new ways of working. Internationally this will be PepsiCo’s first agile workspace. IA are now working with PepsiCo on other workplace design projects nationally.
