CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY
A FLEXIBLE APPROACH TO ABW
IA Design were commissioned by CASA to design a flexible activity-based work (ABW) environment that supported their agile way of thinking without the core unassigned seating component.
CASA sought a flexible workplace that promoted the benefits of an ABW workplace, while maintaining assigned seating. The goal was to create an environment would inspire their workforce, increase staff communication and improve productivity.
When approaching this project, IA Design worked closely with CASA to analyse the alignment between people’s behaviours, the physical space and their technology requirements – in order to design a space that achieved CASA’s set objectives.
The new workplace reflects CASA’s commitment to provide its staff with an office environment that promotes staff collaboration, engagement and productivity. The final design is contemporary and modern with well-appointed amenities that symbolise modern workplace evolution. The new design also accommodates to future space, allowing CASA to adapt to an unassigned seating model in the future. The project was delivered on-time, under-budget and to the design brief.
IA Design has completed a number of fitout designs for CASA around Australia over the past 8 years.
