Following our appointment as their National Workplace Strategy Designers, IA Design were directly appointed by BAE Systems Australia to work closely with them to create their new workplace fitout in the Adelaide CBD. The design includes a new fitout across three levels that provides flexibility for BAE’s frequently growing team and the diverse requirements of each department.

BAE’s design brief was to deliver a fitout that explored the forefront of cutting-edge design. Their objective was to break the conventionalised stereotype of defence companies by providing a vibrant, collaborative space which embodied a positive environment. BAE requested Australian cultural connections, whilst maintaining an abstract connection to the services their company provide. With a trusting client, IA pushed the boundaries and played with two overarching design themes – nature, which connected to the Australian landscape, and industrialism, metaphorically connecting to their manufacturing responsibilities
